A teenager has been sentenced after an incident of criminal damage in Scarborough.

Just after midday on the 6th of January, the 17-year-old male damaged two police vans as he left the Justice Centre for an unrelated matter.

The Iveco police van and a Peugeot Partner van, used by crime scene investigators, were both damaged, with their passenger-side wing mirrors knocked off.

He admitted to one count of criminal damage and has been given a conditional discharge for 12 months, and has to pay a victim surcharge of £16.
