Yorkshire Beard Day Returns to Scarborough

Yorkshire Beard Day Returns to Scarborough

Published by Jon Burke at 8:01am 7th March 2020.

It's all about facial hair in Scarborough today, as the town hosts Yorkshire Beard Day.

It's at the Spa, from 2pm till 7pm and there'll be various stalls, events and competitions.

It also raises money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Co-organiser, anthony Springall, said:

"If you've just got stubble, you can go with a bunch of people who've got stubble and see if you've got the best stubble in Yorkshire. You can have a moustache, or sideburns and those who don't have the moustache, but they have the beard, which goes round your chin. It's sometimes called the chin-warmer, the chin strap, or the chin curtain. I've listed it this year as the 'Whitby Whaler'."

Anthony's been speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Jon Burke..
