Blues March On But Boro Falter

Scarborough Athletic suffered a blow to their top-five hopes but Whitby Town boosted their chances with a fourth successive victory.

Boro lost out 2-0 in Cheshire to fellow promotion-chasers Warrington Town, leaving them five points adrift of the BetVictor NPL Premier play-off places.

Darren Kelly's men fell behind in the 15th minute, but it took until the dying seconds for the North West outfit to net their killer second.

Whitby are a place and a point further back, but hold seven games in hand on their Yorkshire Coast rivals.

An Alex White goal, midway through the first half, got the Blues going and they effectively ended the contest, eight minutes from time, with substitute Brad Fewster's strike.

Bridlington Town's scheduled trip to Liversedge, in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League, was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
