Robin Hood's Bay Cliff Slip Affects Cleveland Way

Robin Hood's Bay Cliff Slip Affects Cleveland Way

A cliff slippage south of Robin Hood's bay has forced the closure of part of the Cleveland Way.

The Cleveland Way National Trail say..

"Due to the ongoing cliff slippage taking place on the Cleveland Way south of Robin Hood’s Bay near Farsyde Farm we have had to close this section temporarily and divert walkers onto other rights of way. This diversion will stay in place until the conditions are suitable for the path line to be set back."

The details of the diversion are as follows and are described from Robin Hood’s Bay:

"From Robin Hood’s Bay where the Cleveland Way heads up Flagstaff steps, take instead the Marnar Dale public footpath on your right to the Cinder Track/old railway line. Go left on the Cinder Track and turn off after 350 metres at the road bridge, then left down Mark Lane. Join the public footpath past Farsyde House to rejoin the Cleveland Way."

This diversion adds an additional 1.4 km to the walk.

A map of the diverted route will be available on the Cleveland Way website shortly
