Further flooding is expected today for Scarborough, according to the Environment Agency.

A flood warning is in place for properties on Sandside and Foreshore Road, it affects the Old Harbour and West Pier areas.

The agency say immediate action is required.

Overtopping waves and spray are expected for Friday afternoon’s high tide, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm and on Saturday's early morning high tide between 1.30am and 5am.

They added:

'Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads, as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.'
