Staff at McDonald's in Bridlington have been subjected to abuse by youngsters.

Police say at around 7pm on Sunday (16th February) a large number of youths were involved in anti-social behaviour at McDonald's on Bessingby Industrial Estate.

Officers said:

"We would like to reassure members of the public present, who may have witnessed the incident, that this type of behaviour will NOT be tolerated and positive action will be taken.

From the incident, a male and female juvenile were detained and the police will be taking formal action in relation to their behaviour and damage caused.

Please can we seek the support from parents to ask their children whether they were present at McDonalds during the evening of this incident and if so, to provide them education about the consequences of being involved in such anti-social behaviour.

The Police work closely with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to combat anti-social behaviour and will take positive action against any individual identified as responsible."

A 14 year-old girl remains under suspicion of causing criminal damage to the interior of McDonald's, and of the assault of police officer.
