Scarborough South Cliff Stabilisation Near Completion

A scheme to stabilise the cliffs behind Scarborough’s Spa complex is set to finish this month.

The work has costed £16 million, which has been mainly funded by a Defra grant of £11.6m, administered by the Environment Agency, with the difference being made up by contributions from Scarborough Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council.

The project started in May 2018 and is set to be completed in February, slightly behind schedule.
