Scarborough Athletic are just one place outside the play-off places after thumping Bamber Bridge 5-0, on Saturday.

The Seadogs were quickly into their stride as leading scorer James Walshaw opened the scoring inside 16 minutes and skipper Michael Coulson doubled their lead, from the penalty spot, just three minutes later.

Three goals in 13 minutes, early in the second half, put the result beyond doubt as Ryan Watson netted Scarborough's third and two quickfire Walshaw strikes took him to 13 league goals for the season.

Whitby Town have won their last three, but had to battle in muddy conditions at The Towbar Express Stadium.

The Blues led through Matty Tymon's 27th-minute opener and it looked comfortable when Paul Blackett netted his ninth goal in as many matches, from the penalty spot, just before half-time.

However, bottom club Stafford Rangers took advantage of the wind to pull one back, eleven minutes from time, but the Seasiders clung on to rise to ninth and stay in the play-off shake-up.

Bridlington Town made it a hat-trick of wins for our local sides as they came from behind to beat promotion rivals Yorkshire Amateur 2-1.

Town's Bradford-based visitors took the lead, midway through the first half, but Brid rallied after the break.

Matthew Broadley levelled, seven minutes into the second half and Billy Logan struck the winner which takes Brett Agnew's men within five points of leaders Staveley Miners Welfare.
