North Yorkshire Police are asking the public to keep an eye open for a man missing from Essex who they believe could be in the Scarborough area.

66-year-old Douglas Watson went missing from his home in Weeley on Thursday.

Douglas is described as 5ft 6ins tall, with grey hair and is of a medium build.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown shoes and a black coat.

Officers believed Douglas has travelled to Cambridgeshire by train and then onto Northampton. They say there is a strong chance he could also be in Scarborough, where he recently visited on holiday.

His family and officers are worried about Douglas and we want to find him to make sure he is okay.

Anyone who has seen Douglas, or has any information about where he might be is asked to please call 101.
