Man Assaulted In Scarborough Street

A man has been assaulted in Scarborough which resulted in him getting cuts and bruises.

It happened on Morgan Street at around 6.45am yesterday (Tuesday 4th February).

The victim, a man in his 40s, was setting off for work when he was approached by a man in dark clothing.

The suspect, who is around 6ft tall, assaulted him and fled in the direction of Gladstone Road.

Police have launched an investigation and are reassuring the public that they believe it is an isolated incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Jeremy Dean.
