Yorkshire Freeview TV Changes Today

Yorkshire Freeview TV Changes Today

Published by Matthew Pells at 6:01am 5th February 2020.

TV service Freeview is warning viewers in Yorkshire that they might need to retune their television sets today as a number of frequency changes take place.

The changes will affect viewers who receive their pictures from the Belmont transmitter in Lincolnshire and the Emley Moor transmitter in Yorkshire. Most of the relay transmitters are also affected although the changes wont happen on Scarborough's Olivers Mount Transmitter until next week (February 12th).

Freeview say that some equipment will retune automatically – but if you find you are missing channels, you’ll need to retune your Freeview TV or set-top box to get them back.

Carrying out a full retune on your Freeview TV or box should restore your channels, however, in some cases you may need a new aerial to continue watching all available services.

More details about how to retune equipment and how to get further help are available on the Freeview Website

The frequency changes are being made following a decision by Ofcom to reallocate some TV frequencies for mobile data use.
