£4000 Donation For Whitby RNLI

£4000 Donation For Whitby RNLI

Published by Karen Liu at 12:31pm 4th February 2020.

A Yorkshire holiday cottage business has raised £4,000 for Whitby RNLI by adding an option to add a pound donation onto its booking system.

Visitors to Whitby and Yorkshire have had their donations collected, which has been split between the RNLI and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, two charities saving lives along the Yorkshire Coast.

Kirsty Jones from Ingrid Flute's said:

"Our customers have been very generous, some even opting to donate more than the standard £1.

It’s all added up and we’re thrilled to be able to hand over a cheque for £4000 today."

Whitby RNLI Coxswain Howard Fields thanked the company and their customers for their donations and said:

"Not many people realise that the RNLI is run solely on donations. Each and every penny enables the institution to keep functioning, to keep training, and to keep saving lives at sea."
