Chance To Shape The Future Of Scarborough and Whitby

Published by Karen Liu at 6:01am 30th January 2020.

People in Scarborough and Whitby have the chance to shape their town's futures.

Scarborough Borough Council's putting together two bids for a share of the Government's £3.6 billion Towns Fund.

Residents and businesses are being asked to submit ideas of what changes they'd like to see and what would make a successful bid.

Recent suggestions for Scarborough include better office space and digital connectivity, reduced business rates, and more activities for the youth to do.

In Whitby, people say they want an information centre, the park and ride to be open all year round which will free up car parking spaces for residents.

John - probably because they do not get the chance with all the money being spent in Scarborough. Of course there are lots of changes, just look at all the new housing developments that are going up in the town and all the extra provision for holiday homes and extra caravans and yet no extra facilities!
