A planning application's been submitted to redevelop Bridlington's Hilderthorpe Road Coach Park.

Developers of the site, Fintry, have applied for planning permission to develop the area.

It wants to build two large retail units, and a small food unit, which would be where the toilet block currently sits.

It would also include 200 free car parking spaces.

It's hoped permission will be granted in April. and the company says if that is the case, work will start in May, and be completed by February 2021.

The proposals by Fintry include the following main elements:

  • a stand-alone unit of 21,054 sqft/1,956 sqm gross floorspace at the western end of the site, which is intended to be occupied by Lidl;
  • a further retail unit in a separate building on the north-eastern part of the site, comprising 24,000 sqft/2,230 sqm gross, with a 7,00 sqft/650 sqm garden centre attached, which is intended to be occupied by B&M;
  • an additional ‘pod’ building, comprising 1,400 sqft/131 sqm, at the eastern end of the site;
  • 237 car parking spaces in total across the site, of which 22 are accessible.
