Staff and volunteers at Scarborough PDSA shop are urging local people to clear out their wardrobes and donate any unwanted clothes to help sick and injured pets.

Ladies, men's and children's clothes are all urgently needed, including jeans, coats, jackets and jumpers, as well as shoes, hats and belts.

Donations can be taken to the store from Monday to Saturday, between 9am and 5pm and on a Sunday 10am to 4pm.

PDSA Shop Manager, Julie Griffiths, said:

“Perhaps your wardrobe is bulging with unworn clothes, or your chest-of-drawers is full to the brim with items that no longer fit?

Why not have a sort-out and donate your unwanted items to PDSA?

We collect for free on Wednesdays and you can arrange this service by popping into the shop or ringing us on 01723 503310.

As well as de-cluttering your home, and making more room for new purchases for Spring, you will be helping a very worthy cause at the same time.

All the money raised in the shop helps PDSA treat the sick and injured pets of people in need.”

Located on Newborough (opposite Marks and Spencer front doors), PDSA shop raises funds to provide PDSA-funded veterinary treatment .

Julie added:

"Perhaps you're looking for something to do with your day, wanting to meet new people or update your CV, why not donate some of your time and volunteer with us, you can apply online at - it will be the best decision you've ever made!"

PDSA encourages all supporters to sign up for Gift Aid, to help their donations go even further.

Gift Aid allows PDSA to claim an additional 25 per cent of the value of each item sold, which helps raise over £1m a year for the charity.
