Whitby Town and Bridlington Town picked up away victories, on Saturday, to boost their respective promotion campaigns.

Whitby enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Hyde United to go within eight points of the BetVictor NPL Premier Division top five, with four games in hand on fifth-placed Warrington.

Chris Hardy's men led, on the half hour, when Danny Rowe found the net and clinched the win, on the break, a minute from time, through on-loan striker Paul Blackett.

Scarborough Athletic had to settle for a point against Cheshire side Nantwich Town.

Ryan Watson had put the Seadogs in front but the promotion-chasers hit back just before the hour, at The Flamingo Land Stadium.

Bridlington Town are sixth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League, after a 1-0 victory at Maltby Main.

Lewis Taylor netted the only goal of the game for Brett Agnew's men who are just two points from the top three, who go up automatically to the NPL.
