Bridlington Coastguard and the Rescue Helicopter 912 have rescued a man with a suspected dislocated shoulder.

It happened yesterday (Wednesday 1st January) at Thornwick Bay at around 12.20pm.

The man was found within Little Thornwick on the cliff face and the helicopter had to be called due to the location.

Rope rescue equipment was set up and a cliff technician was ready to descend if the rescue helicopter wasn’t available.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were also in attendance and the cliff technician was lowered to assist the helicopter winchman.

The man was extracted to the cliff top and was handed over to the paramedics.
