Brid Held By Promotion Rivals

Brid Held By Promotion Rivals

Published by Yorkshire Coast Radio News at 7:42am 29th December 2019.

Bridlington Town were held 0-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare, on Saturday.

With local leagues on a Christmas break and no games for Scarborough Athletic or Whitby Town, until New Years Day, Brett Agnew's men took centre stage.

The result sees them sit seventh in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division. Town are ten points behind leaders Penistone Church, with four games in hand. Three teams are promoted, into the BetVictor NPL, this season, with Brid still in with a chance.

Agnew may well look at Saturday's result as a valuable point, with Staveley themselves sitting third.

Brid are next in action, this coming Saturday, they host leaders Church, at the Hudgell Solicitors Stadium, while on Wednesday, Scarborough Athletic travel to BetVictor NPL Premier pacesetters South Shields and Whitby Town visit Morpeth Town.
