Ryedale Residents Set To Have Their Say

Ryedale Residents Set To Have Their Say

Published by Yorkshire Coast Radio News at 6:01am 25th December 2019.

Residents of Ryedale are being encouraged to comment on the Council’s services and budget proposals for next year.

As a District Council, Ryedale receives around 11 percent of its income from Council Tax, with the remainder coming from housing benefits subsidy, fees and charges for services, business rates, a new homes bonus and other government grants.

Accessed via Ryedale District Council’s website, the consultation provides detailed information on how the Council’s budget is made up, and where money is spent.

The survey asks respondents in places like Staxton and Ganton to rate their satisfaction with a range of different services, including street cleaning, housings services, planning and leisure facilities.  It also  provides respondents with a chance to comment on a proposed uplift to Council Tax of 2 percent or £5 (about 10p per week).

Anyone who wishes to respond to the survey can do so online at:

The consultation ends on 16 January 2020.  The results will inform the Council’s decision around budgets and Council Tax levels, which will be made at the Council meeting on 20 February 2020.
