£6,000 Raised For 'Half Monty' Charity Night In Scarborough

Published by Karen Liu at 5:47pm 16th December 2019.

A group of 22 brave ladies dared to bare and raised £6,000 at a ‘Half Monty’ charity night in Scarborough.

The event at Cayton Bay Holiday Park was a huge success, with the proceeds shared between Saint Catherine’s, Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Care.

The show featured 14 cabaret acts, disco, raffle and finale of the ‘Half Monty’, where the ladies bared their top half to raise both awareness and funds.

Organiser Lisa Smith, a breast cancer survivor, said:

“It was brilliant – there was such a good atmosphere on the night and everyone had a great time.

Some of us did it last year and we had 14 new ladies this time who were a bit nervous, but everyone did so well.”

The ladies even received a good luck video message from Coleen Nolan, who inspired the fundraiser by taking part in ITV’s The Real Full Monty: Ladies’ Night.

Lisa added that she would like to plan another fundraising event – with a different format – in the future. She thanked everyone who supported the show and made it possible.

A charity song, titled ‘Fighter’ by Lisa Jane, is still on sale which was produced for the event.

Sian Cromack, fundraiser at Saint Catherine’s, said:

“We were thrilled to receive a donation of £2,000 from these wonderful ladies.

They were extremely brave to take part and we would like to thank each and every one of them for their support.”
