Christmas Toy Appeal in Whitby

Christmas Toy Appeal in Whitby

Published by Jon Burke at 6:31am 10th December 2019.

If you're in Whitby, you could help a local child by buying them a Christmas present.

Peregrine House Care Home, on Upgang Lane, is collecting gifts for underpriveleged children on behalf of the town's Salvation Army.

Staff at the home decided to donate a gift instead of doing their own Secret Santa.

The Salvation Army will be picking them up on Friday morning, so any gift donations need to be dropped off at the home before then

Deputy Manager of Peregrine House, Megan Collis, said:

"Anything that people can donate, you just write on the present what age it's for and whether it's for a girl or boy. Cars for boys, or hammerbeads or I know that the LOL Dolls - some people have got LOL diaries, I know they're popular with young girls - a football, a teddy, anything."
