A Bridlington man has been charged over a shop robbery in the town.

It happened on Sewerby Road at around 1.15pm on Monday 25th November.

Police say they received a report that he was holding what was described as a blade, while he demanded money from the till.

Officers say he stole four bottles of whiskey, before running out of the shop down an alleyway.

No-one was hurt during the incident.

Izac Thorne, 22, from Harrington Road in Bridlington, has been charged with robbery and having an offensive weapon, namely a knife in a public place.

He appeared at Hull Magistrates on the 30th of November and entered no plea.

Mr. Thorne has been remanded in custody and is set to appear back in court in the new year.
