Private Christmas Lights Display Switches On Tonight!

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 8:07am 5th November 2019. (Updated at 7:35am 17th November 2019)

The biggest private Christmas Lights Display on the Yorkshire Coast is back tonight and is bigger than ever before!

Tony Baker's display raises money each year for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, after his wife & daughter were airlifted from a serious accident on the A1 a few years ago. The event has raised nearly £15,000 so far.

Already featuring over 10,000 lights, yellow helicopters made from wood and around 90 Christmas trees, Tony says this year it's even bigger:

"The staging was 10ft high last year. This year it's 20ft high. There are lots of full size plastic animals and mannequins for the Wise Men and Mary & Joseph.

Paddy In The Morning has turned on the display for the last 5 years and will be back for this year's event, playing festive songs from 5:15pm and doing the countdown to the lights switch on at 6:00pm. This will be followed by a snow machine for 10 minutes and music whilst free mince pies and sausage rolls are handed out.

The event takes place tonight at 14 Seaview Crescent, Scarborough. We'd love to see you there!
