Scarborough Man Charged For Being Abusive During Military Parade

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 5:45pm 4th November 2019. (Updated at 5:46pm 4th November 2019)

A dispersal order had to be put in place in Scarborough over the weekend, following numerous complaints of anti-social behaviour in the town.

It happened on Saturday 2nd November and officers dealt with three people under the order.

One of them, a 56-year-old man from Scarborough, was also arrested the next day following reports of people being abusive during the parade from the Royal British Legion.

He was charged with the offence of display threatening/abusive writing/sign/visible representation likely to cause harassment/alarm/distress.

He is due in court later this month.
