Donations Wanted To Help Bridlington Homeless Charity Cafe

Published by Karen Liu at 11:01am 31st October 2019.

A cafe in Bridlington that supports the homeless is asking for donations.

Kingfisher, which is on West Street, provides a safe, warm and friendly space for those in need.

Its Chair, Rosie French, said:

"The Kingfisher Cafe feeds and supports the local homeless and vulnerble of the East Riding and mostly around Bridlington area.

We provide clothing, food, support, an address so they can claim benefits, contact with their families and lots of loving care.

We'll also feed everybody who comes in, not just the homeless, as any food that they have in the cafe will go to support the homeless."

Rosie says the cafe is run entirely by volunteers:

"We function on donations and it costs us £1,200 a month just to stay open, and all of that money has to be raised, and that's if nothing goes wrong.

We have a lovely place and the cafe's now very, very well equipped.

Our main concern is that the utilities can't continue to be paid for; because if the cafe's not there, then there's no address and people can't get benefits."

Anyone who wants to donate to the Kingfisher Cafe can do so here: or you can find out more about them and contact them here:
