Scarborough Roadworks Continue to Cause Delays

Scarborough Roadworks Continue to Cause Delays

Published by Matthew Pells at 4:57pm 28th October 2019. (Updated at 11:02am 29th October 2019)

Work is continuing on the A170 Stepney Road and Stepney Drive roundabout in Scarborough this week causing delays across the day.

North Yorkshire County Council say that for safety reasons they will be keeping Stepney Drive closed while the work is underway. A signed diversion is in place.

The work to upgrade the junction of the A170, at the Stepney Road/Stepney Drive roundabout is part of a plan to improve congestion at four of the town's busy junctions.

It's being carried out between 7am and 9pm on weekdays.

The work is expected to be finished by 29 November.

Scarborough and surrounding areas seem to have no road left that does not have roadworks... Not only have temporary traffic lights been on and off on cayton low road for what seems like forever just to make things even better the road is closed at killerby from 4th November until FEBRUARY 2020! As to why any works should need to take that long (pipe replacement i believe) when the road is completely closed i am not sure.
