Beach Clean To Take Place On Scarborough's North Bay

Published by Karen Liu at 2:00pm 18th October 2019.

There is a beach clean taking place in Scarborough tomorrow.

It has been organised by Surfers Against Sewage in the town, who say they will also be launching their citizen science program that will provide empirical data on litter for the next 10 years.

Steve Crawford, who is from the charity, said:

"It's that time of year again; Autumn is a time when our beaches need extra care.

The last of the summer tourist litter hangs around the banks and the early storm marine debris is waiting to sweep in.

This year I thought we'd do somewhere different.

There are 2 options on the day. The first is an easy stroll along the North Bay and the second is to go up over the Headland to tackle Jackson's Bay.

It's a bit of a scramble but the walk is lovely. As always all ages welcome but under 16's need a guardian to accompany them.

Wear weather appropriate clothes."

Anyone interested is asked to meet at the SEA LIFE Scarborough car park at 2.30pm tomorrow (Saturday 19th October).
