Bridlington Young Farmer in Miss Great Britain Finals

Bridlington Young Farmer in Miss Great Britain Finals

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 9:35am 14th October 2019. (Updated at 9:36am 14th October 2019)

Bridlington Young Farmer Sammy Lambert is going for Miss Great Britain glory in February next year, in a new over 28's category, created to celebrate 75 years of the Miss Great Britain event.

Sammy will be swapping mucking out the horses for a glitzy ceremony at The Athena in Leicester. She believes she's the only farmer in the over 28's Ms Great Britain finals:

"I'm always on the tractors and mucking the horses out and I'm hoping it inspires young farmers to get involved. I'm doing it for confidence in myself. I haven't been a very confident person in the past but when I have achieved things I've felt really happy afterwards.

As part of the finals, Sammy is raising money for 2 charities. They are Alex's Wish and Cancer Research UK. To help raise funds, she's taking to the skies:

"I'm doing a loop the loop challenge on Friday 8th November. I'll be going in an AeroSPARX stunt planes. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm asking for donations to sponsor me".

Good luck Sammy from all at Yorkshire Coast Radio!
