27 Scarborough Gym Members To Climb Mount Snowdon

Published by Karen Liu at 6:01am 12th October 2019.

27 members from a Scarborough gym are set to climb Mount Snowdon today.

It is to raise money for a Thalia-Beau Wright, 4, from Scarborough, who has a rare heart disease.

She has restrictive cardiomyopathy  which is incurable and she needs a heart transplant.

Starting from around 10am, the group will attempt the challenge and expect it to take five to six hours.

Katie Newton, one of those who is taking part, said:

"We usually train between three and five times a week; lots of resistance training, a lot of cardio and we've been given a lot nutritional advice as well.

A lot of us have been going out on quite challenging walks and just going out to get our stamina up.

Our initial target was set at £2,000, which we were quite hopeful we would get it.

On the last count, because we've not only got an online Justgiving page, we've also had a paper copy in the gym.

We're actually not far off £3,000 which we're absolutely delighted with."
