Yorkshire Coast MP's Reaction to Resumption of Parliament

Published by Matthew Pells at 6:15pm 24th September 2019. (Updated at 6:16pm 24th September 2019)

Boris Johnson's suspension of parliament was today ruled unlawful by the Supreme Court.

Eleven judges decided unanimously that there was no "reasonable justification" for stopping parliament doing its work.

It dismissed the government's argument that it was simply preparing for a Queen's speech.

The judgement means MPs will be back in the Commons from 11-30 on Wednesday morning.

So what do our local MP's make of the days events?

Filey MP, Kevin Hollinrake, has been talking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Jon Burke.

Scarborough and Whitby MP, Robert Goodwill, spoke to Matthew Pells

Bridlington MP Sir Greg Knight was approached for comment.
