Man Airlifted To Hospital After Crash On A64 In Seamer

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash involving a motorbike on the A64 Seamer bypass.

Emergency services were called to near Dunslow Road at 5.46pm yesterday (Tuesday 17th September). 

The rider of the grey Suzuki, a 59-year-old local man, suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. 

He was taken by air ambulance to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough where he is receiving treatment. 

Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision, which occurred as the rider approached the roundabout - near the Papa’s fish and chip shop - behind a line of traffic. 

Local diversions were put in place while the emergency services worked at the scene. The road reopened at around 8.50pm.
