Bridlington Man's Charity Bid For Madagascar

Bridlington Man's Charity Bid For Madagascar

Nathan Stapley, from Bridlington, is raising money to build the first disability centre in North West Madagascar.

The 23-year-old grew up on the Yorkshire Coast, but found himself doing charity work on the African country he fell in love with.

After a stint as a special needs teaching assistant in Driffield, he followed up charity work abroad, by setting up his own non-profit organisation. Learn Achieve Become, created in 2017, raises money to provide free facilities for developing nations.

While the island nation may be nearly six thousand miles from Brid, Nathan says the draw of the sea was always there:

His charity work has also taken him to Kenya and central America. As well as looking to provide free sport and education services, Nathan also wants to raise awareness:

The raffle is £1 per ticket and businesses on the coast are encouraged to assist by buying and distributing tickets with a ten-day trip to Madagascar the grand prize. As well as raising money, the charity is also looking for more volunteers and to collect disability-friendly equipment.
