Scarborough RNLI Called To Children Drifting On An Inflatable

Published by Karen Liu at 8:55am 16th September 2019.

Scarborough RNLI were called out yesterday to reports of two children drifting on an inflatable.

It happened on Saturday (14th September) in the north bay.

The charity says by the time the inshore lifeboat had launched and went around the castle headland, the youngsters were back on the beach with coastguards.

Andy Volans, lifeboat operations manager, said:

“Adults looking after children on the beach and in the sea should always keep a keen eye on them and be alert to the possibility of danger”.

If you see anyone injured or in distress on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
