A teenage boxer from Bridlington is officially one of the best in Europe.

Emily Asquith has been part of the England team at the European Youth Boxing Championships in Sofia this week.

Boxing in the youth section, the 17 year old won the light heavyweight title in a bout with Turkey's Elanur Sagit - taking gold with a unanimous 5-0 points decision.

It's Emily's second European gold medal having previously won the Junior title.

Bridlington Boxing Club head coach, Damien Grant, shared the news on social media.

Emily's gold medal was one of a hat-trick of victories from the England squad with Caroline Dubois, Gemma Richardson and Emily helping England finish joint top of the females medal table –  along with Italy, claiming three golds each.
