More Affordable Housing Needed on Yorkshire Coast

Published by Matthew Pells at 6:01am 11th September 2019.

Nearly a year after the merger of Yorkshire Coast Homes with Coast & Country Housing, the new organisation's Chief Executive says there is increasing demand for their services on the Yorkshire Coast.

Beyond Housing was formed in October last year, it manages 15,000 homes across the Yorkshire Coast and Teeside and has 30,000 customers. The organisation also provides independent living services to over 8,000 elderly or vulnerable customers and has plans to build around 2,000 new homes over the next five years

Beyond Housing's Chief Executive, Rosemary Du Rose, will be briefing the Borough Councils overview and scrutiny committee today about the organisations first twelve months and about it's plans going forward.

Rosemary says they want to continue building new housing.

Rosemary says tackling problems around homelessness, the affordability of houses and rural depopulation will continue to be the key aims for Beyond Housing in the next 12 months.
