The Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers have raised nearly £1000 for local organisations at a festival in Seamer.

The club organised a tombola and raffle at the recent Hedge-Hoggers festival, some of the money has already been distributed with Scarborough Alzheimers receiving £400, Irton & Seamer Memorial Hall being awarded £250, and Singing for the brain, which supports dementia suffers and supplied the club with some prizes receiving a small donation as a way of thanks for their efforts.

Enid Plevey, Chair of Irton & Seamer Memorial Hall; Gail Hartley from Singing for the Brain and Ruth Armstrong from Scarborough Alzheimers Society received the donations from Tony Stevens, President of the Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers along with Daniel Hargreaves, Hedge Hoggers Cider Director.

The rotary club are currently on the look out for projects to support over the next 12 months.

"Scarborough Cavaliers Rotary are on the lookout for a local cause that could do with a helping hand, perhaps to get it off the ground  – maybe some funding, or extra manpower or specialist expertise.

We are looking to gather outline information from local Charities about possible projects by 1st July 2019.

We will get to understand a little more about the potential projects during July 2019 and invite selected ones to a brief informal presentation at the end of July, with a view to working with you during the year July 2019 to June 2020. "
