The expansion of Scarborough Athletic's Flamingo Land Stadium is underway.

The club have shared pictures of the progress of the new stand being built at the ground.

The building work will be completed for the start of the 2019/20 season and will see the ground's capacity increase to just under 3,000 with two blocks of terracing catering for 840 fans either side of a seating area for 340. The new stand will feature a family area. The extra capacity will help create the space for a bigger wheelchair area in the main stand.

The Football Stadia Improvement Fund granted £150,000 towards the scheme, that money was in addition to the £100,000 generated by Scarborough Borough Council in 2017 through the awarding of the naming rights of the Flamingo Land Stadium.

The remaining funds required for the projected £290,000 project are being provided by Scarborough Athletic FC, its Supporters Club and sponsors.

The new stand is being constructed on the Oliver's Mount side of the ground.
