Filey residents are waking up to sound of Tanks rumbling through the town this weekend.

They are headed to the beach where a fundraising event for the Seas Cadets is giving people the opportunity to ride in one of the vehicles.

The event is taking place as part of the Filey Steampunk Weekend. Passenger rides will be available between the tides on Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th of May.  Event organisers say the tides mean they will only be able to run from around 9am till roughly 12:30/1pm.

The rides cost £10 for Adults, £5 for kids with some of the money being donated to Filey Sea Cadets and the Filey Lifeboat.

It's the second year that the event has taken place on the beach. The Sea cadets have thanked Scarborough Borough and Filey Town Council for "supporting us again by letting us have this amazing and unique opportunity."
