New Train Timetables for Yorkshire Coast

New Train Timetables for Yorkshire Coast

Published by Jon Burke at 7:02am 19th May 2019.

There are new timetables for Northern Rail services on the Yorkshire coast from today.

They affect trains between Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and Hull - and Whitby and Middlesbrough.

Nearly double the number of trains will stop at Hunmanby.

The new timetables are below:

Scarborough - Filey - Bridlington - Hull

Whitby - Middlesbrough

Nick Harvey, from Friends of Hunmanby Railway Station, said:

"What we're having is Sunday train services improve from 12 services to 23 from the village and weekday services from Monday to Saturday from 18 to 30 trains, all running at regular hourly frequencies, all stopping at the village station.

So it's the best train service the village has ever had in it's history, since it was opened in the 1940s".

Operational Service Director at Northern, Paul Barnfield, said:

“We have now added more than 2,000 extra services per week since the franchise began and will continue to work to deliver the enhancements our customers deserve to give them the best possible rail service.

In the coming months our customers will see the first of our new trains and we will continue to introduce more fully refurbished trains, with free wifi and at-seat charging points.

Performance will also be a key focus. We have already seen significant improvements during the past six months, and we will continue to concentrate on delivering a stable and reliable service, giving our customers greater confidence in the railway.”
