Recycling Rates Revealed For Yorkshire Coast Councils

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is the best in England at recycling household rubbish.

That is according to new research using figures from the Government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) which reveals 65 percent of waste is sent to be recycled in the region.

Whilst in North Yorkshire that figure dips to nearly 45 percent.

Scarborough Borough Council has 37 percent - that is the fifth from the bottom across Yorkshire and the Humber.
