Boro To Wear Special Edition Shirt For St Catherine's

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 9:45am 12th February 2019. (Updated at 1:58pm 12th February 2019)

Scarborough Athletic are set to wear a one-off special edition shirt to raise money for Saint Catherine's.

The team will play in a purple shirt, which can be sponsored for a minimum donation of £100, in the Easter fixture at home to Grantham Town on Saturday April 20.

Businesses and supporters will be able to bid for the special edition shirts, with the highest bidders choosing which player's shirt they'd like to sponsor.

They will have their company name printed on the front of their chosen player's shirt and after the game the shirts will be signed and presented to the successful bidders.

The club has a long running association with the charity, with former Chairmen Richard Adamson and Dave Holland, who spent their final days at the hospice.

For the last ten years the club has run the Goal-den Pledge scheme in which supporters have pledged money for every goal that Boro score in the season, which has raised thousands of pounds for Saint Catherine's.
