Flamborough RNLI Looking For More Volunteers

Published by Karen Liu at 12:49pm 11th February 2019.

Flamborough RNLI are recruiting more volunteers.

They are looking for boat and shore crew who will assist in call-outs.

They also need volunteers who will help with their fundraising like sell souvenirs and gifts in their RNLI shop, assist in bucket collections at various sites and help with general fundraising activities.

Captain David Freeman, the lifeboat's operation manager, said:

"With people getting older and having to retire, the in-shore crew  can go to 65 but boat crew have to retire at 55 so we need people coming in.

Minimum age is 17 but they will need their parent's permission.

In-shore helper would assist in getting the boat to see and training up as a tractor driver, so they can drive the launch and recovery vehicle.

Boat crew will be training up to man the lifeboat, they will go through various training courses as computer-based training."

For the boat and shore crew vacancies, ring David on 07770787183 or go down to the lifeboat station on Sunday mornings after 9am.

For the fundraising vacancies, call Audrey on 01262 851978
