Whitby Town Fans in Court After Match Trouble

Scarborough Magistrates Court

Published by Jon Burke at 4:41pm 7th December 2018.

Three fans of Whitby Town Football Club have been in court after trouble at a match at Scarborough Athletic in August.

They were all charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence.

46 year-old James Gibson, of Hinderwell, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, and Curtis Robson, 22, of Middlwewood Close, Fylingdales, both pleaded guilty.

They were each ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work, and given a restraining order banning them from being near the FlamingoLand Stadium when there are matches on.

Christopher Barkas, 47, of Frake Close, Whitby denies the charge.

He's been remanded on conditional bail, to re-appear in court next month
