Sirius Apprenticeship Event In Scarborough

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 11:01am 5th December 2018. (Updated at 5:21pm 5th December 2018)

There's a chance for young people in Scarborough to find our more about Sirius Minerals' apprenticeship scheme.

An information event is taking place this evening (Wednesday 5 December) at the company's offices in Eastfield.

50 new apprentices are being sought as Advanced Engineering Technicians for the Polyhilate project.

Tonight's information session takes place between 6.00pm-7.30pm. The first ten successful applicants will start in September 2019 and the four year course will focus on developing knowledge of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation engineering principles.

Matt Parsons, General Manager External Affairs, for Sirius Minerals, said:

“As part of our commitment to growing a local workforce, it’s our priority to generate an awareness of these apprenticeships, which will prepare people for long-term roles in the company, to those who live in the area.

We would like to reassure people who cannot make either of the events that they will be held in the future and we will make sure that all the information about these opportunities is made available on our website."

The address for the offices in Eastfield is: Resolution House, Lake View, Eastfield, YO11 3ZB. Parking is available on site.

Another event is happening in Whitby at the Pavilion on Monday 10 December from 6 till 7.30pm.
