New Event At Whitby Pavilion On Goth Weekend

Whitby Pavilion

Published by Karen Liu at 12:55pm 21st September 2018.

It is the battle of the Goth Festivals in Whitby...

A new event at the Pavilion will take place during Goth Weekend.

It is called "Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival" and it will be on October 26th until the 28th.

Back in June, we told you that the organisers of Whitby Goth Weekend won't be returning to the venue this winter.

RELATED STORIES: Goth Festival Won't Return To Whitby Pavilion

Paul Lavender, one of the organisers of the new event, said:

"I suppose every festival has got to have a name and 'Tomorrow's Ghosts' kind of fits with that type of atmosphere.

You can always imagine the wind across the moors and the abbey upon the hill.

My wife took the name from a poem her mum had written, so I guess it's something that encapsulates the atmosphere both of the gothic scene and the location of where it is.

Something that's, I guess, new in recent years at the Pavilion are putting on films.

They've got the victorian theatre there and it's very atmospheric.

So we've got horror films across the weekend and it runs alongside the music so I think it fits very well with the kind of things that Whitby's known for at the weekend."
