Man Rescued by 4x4 Ambulance Near Ravenscar

A 4x4 Ambulance has been used by the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team to help rescue a competitor in the #hardmoors 60 Challenge Event.

The competitor had sustained a lower leg injury on the Cleveland Way between Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar.

The rescue team were called in by the police and used one of their 4 x 4 ambulances and a Bell stretcher to drive the man across fields and tracks to a waiting ambulance crew on the roadside for transport to hospital.

After the rescue the team ferried his running partner to the race finish in Filey to allow him to collect their transport.

The rescue team have thanked a fellow competitor and a member of the public who carried out initial first aid.

Twelve team members and two team vehicles were deployed for approximately two and a half hours.
