Scarborough Man Sentenced for Car Assaults

A Scarborough man's been jailed for two incidents involving cars being driven by women earlier this year.

They happened on Sunday 7th January, the first involving an attempt ot steal a car being driven on Friargate, followed by a woman being pushed out of her car on St Thomas Street.

Darren Robert Turner, 37, from St Sepulchre Street, Scarborough, admitted several charges.

They are:

  • two charges of common assault
  • assault occasioning actual bodily harm
  • aggravated vehicle taking
  • dangerous driving
  • possession of a class b drug
  • driving without a proper licence
  • driving without insurance
  • driving while unfit through drugs

He's been sent to prison for a total of 20 months.
