This year's Bridlington Old Town 1940s Festival saw record crowds.

Organisers say it was also the most successful event in Bridlington this year.

Last year between 15,000 -20,000 visitors attended and this year saw a bigger turnout to the unique location of combining over 900 years of Heritage and the Dads Army Movie Location.

Bridlington Old Town Association PR spokesman David Hinde enthused:

“We all wowed them! It was a fabulous day with so many happy faces and so many memories.

We had many more thousands of visitors from all over the UK than last year.

It is an amazing achievement for such a small team at Bridlington Old Town Association.

What a phenomenal success!

A massive thank you from all the team at Bridlington Old Town Association for the maginificent George Formby experience, the superb Madeline Brown, the beautiful soprano voice of Jessa Liversidge, the amazing Red Sky Ukuleles, Hunmanby Silver Band, Yorkshire Corps of Drums, Coastal Voices, U3A Jazz Band and Bridlington's Makara Morris in 40's attire, all the 40's re-enactors who came along, the Royal British Legion and the Royal Naval Association."
