Bridlington Hosts 1940s Festival

Bridlington is hosting its 3rd 1940s Festival tomorrow.

It's being held in the Old Town and starts at 11am.

Below is a guide to what's on:

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - Dakota is scheduled to do a flypast over Bridlington at 3.55pm

Re-enactors Parade with “Captain Mainwaring”, Bellman of Bridlington and the Yorkshire Corps Of Drums  

The Yorkshire Corps and Drums will follow with a Solo Performance at Gordon Corner/High Street Junction at 11.30 am and 1.30 pm.

Main Stage Priory Green

Opening Speech Bellman of Bridlington Old Town – 11.05 am.
George Formby Experience – Intro to Festival – 11.15 am.
Jessica Liversidge – 11.30 am to 12.10 pm.
George Formby Experience – 12.30 pm to 1.10 pm.
Churchill Speech – 1.15 pm.
Madeline Brown – 1.20 pm to 2.00 pm.
Jessa Liversidge – 2.15 pm to 2.50 pm.
George Formby Experience – 3.00 pm to 3.40 pm. 
Madeline Brown – 3.50 pm to 4.30 pm.

Makara Morris – in 40’s Style – 12 noon to 1.00 only – Roaming.

Bayle Museum (Opening times: Between 11 am and 4 pm)

Red Sky Ukeles – will be playing between 1.30 pm to 3.45 pm.

Hunmanby Silver Band – will be performing close to the Priory Church – 12 noon to 2.00 pm.

Gordon Corner – Street Dancing with Murray’s Jeeps – 11.45 am to 4.30 pm.

Upper High Street Close to Black Lion Inn – Walmington On Sea Brewery

Coastal Voices – 12 noon to 12.40 pm and 2.00 pm to 2.45 pm.

U3A Jazz Band – 1.00 pm to 1.30 pm.

Priory Church

Display of 1940’s Wedding Dresses.

Dam Busters Display and Ministry of Information Display of Ration Cards etc.

Priory Rooms

The Priory Rooms will be transformed into the Naafi Tea Rooms – so why not pop in for a cake and a cuppa!

Priory Green

Lots of stalls and goodies to enjoy including 1940’s Memorabilia on the Priory Green.

High Street

Stalls selling Hot and Cold Food including Hog Roasts, Gin & Prosecco Bar, Dads Army Museum ‘Artist in Residence’ Steve Lilley and his Portrait Collection, Crafts and Presents, Pilgrim Bandits Charity with Ben Parkinson MBE who is one of the most seriously injured soldiers to survive the Afghan Conflict.
