Plans for a new Premier Inn hotel in Scarborough have been submitted.

It's set to be situated on a vacant plot of land within The Sands development, where the Alpamare Waterpark currently sits.

The  report states the hotel would sit between the Generous George pub and the waterpark itself.

Residents or anyone else who wants to make a comment on the application can do so here:

It would comprise of 106 rooms over six stories, an ancillary restaurant, an external seating area adjoining the existing car park, a service area and additional parking spaces to the existing car park.

It's expected that the new development would result in the creation of 30 full-time jobs including in front of house, kitchen, technical and management positions, according to the report.

It would be the second Premier Inn in the town, with one already located on Falconers Road.

That hotel itself is part of an ongoing development with an extension underway in place of the former Constitutional Club.

Plans for the partial-demolition and expansion of the Premier Inn  into the historic building were approved by Scarborough Borough Council in December 2016.

This has been on the cards a long time. But as a resident of weydale avenue. We already have people parking for water park . Beach . Pub . Oat. Ect. It's a fact people don't want to pay for parking which I can understand . But I believe it's time the area went to resident parking we have had trouble for a while .
